Nora Aunor, real name Maria Leonora Teresa Cabaltera Aunor, is a world renowned Filipina actress, singer and producer. Nora was born on May 21, 1953 in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines and her achievements also include stage plays, TV shows, concerts and more. Fans and critics refer to her as the "Superstar In Philippine Entertainment Industry". Nora Aunor has received numerous awards and nominations, both international and national. She is the first Filipina actress to win an International Acting Award in The Cairo Film Festival 1995 for the movie "The Flor Contemplacion Story". She is the only film actress who was included in the prestigious list of the Cultural Center Of The Philippines and won the Centennial Honor For The Arts Award. Green Planet Awards have named her as one of their top 10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade in 2010. Adding to her impressive list of awards is also the first Filipino actor to win the Best Performer Award, as well as the youngest recipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award" given by the Film Academy of the Philippines. The list of Aunor's outstading achievement continues with her being the first actress named "Box Office Queen Of Philippine Cinema", an honor she received in 1971. Nora has starred in over 170 films since the 1960s. Nora Aunor made her debut as a recording artist in 1968 and despite her first singles not being hits, she managed to take over music industry with classic songs like "It's Time To Say Goodbye", "Silently", "Forever Loving You" and "It's Not Unusual", just to name a few. For seven years, she was with alpha Records and during that time she set a sales record that wasn't beat to this day. With over 260 singles, 30 of which golden, Nora is Philippine's most successful artist.
