Dr. Dre asked Jay-Z recorded together the Detox song "Under Pressure" months ago, and an unfinished version leaked online yesterday.
The song is the first release fromDre’s long awaited Detox album- which he’s been working on forover 10 years. Under Pressure features a dance influenced beatsimilar to some of Timblaland’s recent solo releases. The songisn't mixed or mastered and has no chorus, but it offers more than aninkling of where the two legends are headed. In April Dre’s label boss JimmyIovine let slip news of the track. Asked what song he’d play on theheadphones he was promoting he said: “The new song Dre has in hispocket, called 'Under Pressure.' It's a brand new single by Dr. Dreand Jay-Z. That's the song I would use.”
Nas, T.I. TheGame, R. Kelly, Lil Wayne and Snoop have all worked with Dre on hisDetox album- which does not yet have an official release date. InApril, Dr Dre said he was hoping to release 'Under Pressure' “inthe next two weeks or so”, but the song never arrived. The rapperand producer added that he was looking to releasing the album thisyear.
Outside of Detox, Dre has been workingwith Eminem, of course, and the Game on his new LP The R.E.D. Album.
