The famous dress worn by Judy Garland in 1939 was sold for a whooping sum!

It's one of the most beloved movies of all time and my personal favorite, so it's a great pleasure to see "
The Wizard of Oz" back in the news thanks to a special auction in Beverly Hills.
The Guardian reports that the famous dress worn by
Judy Garland in the 1939 masterpiece has been sold for the whooping $480,000 to an unidentified buyer.
Lucky guy! Or girl.
But
Dorothy's dress wasn't the only iconic item sold at Julien’s Auction House in Beverly Hills. A green floral dress worn by
Julie Andrews in
"The Sound of Music", which sold for $38,400, a racing jacket belonging to
Steve McQueen sold for $50,000 and a purple wool skirt worn by
Marilyn Monroe in the 1954 film "
River of No Return" also went for $50,000.
