The legal battle against her former agent will cost her more than tears
Her former manager, Sam Lutfi, has sued the singer and her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, back in February 2009 for breach of contract, libel, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress –referring to the 'false statements' about him appearing in Lynne's book 'Through the Storm.'
The last straw on the disastrous relationship was Britney’s drug allegations –which kicked off the defamation trial. Britney’s legal team includes a total of eight lawyers, whose hourly fares reach up to $500 and up to $700 for trials. So, doing the math, the 20-day-trial could cost Britney 50k a day -up to $1 million in total.
Sam Lutfi is asking 15 percent of the $800,000 Spears made each month during the eight months he served as her manager –totaling $960,000 approximately.
Let’s just hope that the justice does its job and everybody gets what they deserve, right?
