Rihanna and Frank Ocean have been confirmed as performers at the upcoming 2012 MTV Video Music Awards live from Staples Center on September 6, at 8pm ET/PT.

RiRi, who tops the VMA nominations list with 5 nods, is a favorite for Video of the Year for "We Found Love" with supporters like Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson and, of course, her Navy.

Ocean, who is nominated for Best New Artist, will be hitting the VMAs stage for the very first time for one of the most anticipated performances of the year.
