Avril Lavigne's engagement took everyone by surprise yesterday when it hit the web. People reported about the "Complicated" singer's engagement to Nickelback's frontman Chad Kroeger and now they are giving us a first look at the sparkly engagement ring!

On August 8, 2012, Chad proposed to Lavigne with a 14-carat pear-shaped diamond ring, after dating for six months.

The Canadian rockers met in February to collaborate on Avril's upcoming album and fell in love.

This will be Kroeger's first marriage and Lavigne's second.
