Following the reports that she
cheated on long-time boyfriend
Robert Pattinson with director Rupert Sanders,
Kristen Stewart had admitted to the affair and issued a public apology earlier today,
PEOPLE reports.
"I am deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry", Kristen said.
News of the affair was revealed by
US Weekly who posted a photo of
Stewart and the '
Snow White And The Huntsman' director in an intimate moment on the magazine's latest cover.

Liberty Ross (right photo), deleted her Twitter account shortly after the affair was discovered, but not before hinting at the relationship between the 'Twilight' actress and her husband. She played
Kristen Stewart's on-screen mother in the "
Snow White And The Huntsman" movie.
Rupert Sanders also issued a public
apology to his family:
"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.
Maybe he should have thought about that before cheating.
The only one who hasn't commented on the sad news is
Robert Pattinson. The actor has made no comments so far and he is probably shocked to have found out about the affair from the media.
He previously stated in an interview with
Italian Vanity Fair that he is against cheating: "There's a thing I've never got, that is, why do people cheat?" which makes us believe he might not forgive
K-Stew for her fling with a married guy.
