Katie Holmes graces the cover of
ELLE magazine August 2012 issue, but once again is not her cover that has people talking.
As you know, Katie recently filed for
divorce from her husband of 5 years,
Tom Cruise, and that's all everyone's interested in these days.
In the spread, the "Dawson's Creek" star offered an interview that will leave the impression that her decision wasn't taken over night, but planned and thought through. Here are the
highlights of her interview:
On Tom Cruise:"He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that."
On being in her 30s:"I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it's like you're trying too hard to figure everything out..I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase."
On whether being Mrs. Tom Cruise helped her in the industry:"Things are not handed to anyone. If anything you work a little bit harder when you're in such visible circumstances."
Sounds like she was in a new phase and ready to move on.
