The Aussie star is glad she didn’t cancel the concerts after the tragedy
Kylie Minogue is one of the few international high-profile stars that didn’t want to cancel the concerts she had planned in Japan after finding out about the tragic news about the earthquake/tsunami disaster.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make, as she confessed that she had to think "long and hard" about moving forward with the shows.
Minogue kicked off her
Aphrodite-Les Folies tour in
Tokyo on Saturday April 23, however the Aussie star admits she almost cancelled after finding out about the country's ongoing problems with aftershocks and a potential nuclear crisis: "I thought long and hard about it and it wasn't an easy decision to make. I was in shock like the rest of the world at the devastation here and in the end I wanted to come," Minogue revealed.
After the first concert,
Kylie tweeted: "Tokyo... You were a*m*a*z*i*n*g!!!! So emotional so fun so beautiful!!"
The day before the concert,
Kylie attended a charity gala dinner in
Tokyo to help raise money for victims of the disaster.
