The British bands will be part of the London’s opening ceremony next year

This is exciting news for rock and sports fans: It just has been announced that British iconic bands
Coldplay and
Muse will be performing at the opening ceremony of the upcoming
Olympics to be celebrated in
London next year.
Along with the rockers, also soul singer
Joss Stone and
Blur frontman
Damon Albarn are also said to be joining the high-profile line-up at the emotional ceremony set for July 2012.
A source tells Britain's
Daily Mirror, "Coldplay are the biggest stadium rockers in Britain today, and their style of anthemic music would be perfect for the Olympics. (The opening song) needs to be something inspirational. The hope is that they would perform at the opening ceremony, as well as produce a recording of the track, which could help fund good causes in British sport."
