The pop star takes this new venture very seriously as he has been traveling to Mexico to learn about the business
It looks like the sky is the limit for Justin Timberlake in terms of business adventures. NY Post has reported that the pop star is working on the development of his own tequila brand. Timberlake has been traveling back and forth to Mexico in order to get educated on the process of elaboration and commercialization of the liquor.
As some images of the artist drinking tequila came up in the papers, his rep declared "This was one of his many meetings over the last two years in development of his tequila business."
According to close sources, the new tequila will be named 901, after the area code of the singer's hometown, Memphis, TN, and will be ready to hit convenience stores in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and St. Louise by next May.
Dave Kaplan, owner of East Village speakeasy-style bar Death & Co and tequila expert has already the best compliments towards the new product: "It's actually a really nice product, it has a nice richness to it, a full-body mouth feel, a nice finish."
For Justin this is not the first project outside the music bizz, as he is behind a clothing line “William Rast” and the Manhattan restaurant “Southern Hospitality”.
