Definetaly a kick-ass CD and one of the best of Trivium. Screaming came back from Ascendancy and that's the fact this CD just pawns. At the caliber of Ascendancy and better than Ember To Inferno and Crusade a Must Have album from Trivium. Enjoy :-)..!!

Shogun is an awesome album. I have to agree that it sounds similar to Ascendency but I think musically they have surpassed all their albums. I think the production is fantastic too. To me it's a mix between Ascendency and Crusade but for anyone who loves these guys, this album simply should not fail you.

It is a f*cking awesome album. I think this is the most progressed of the 4 they have released. It is a huge step-up from The Crusade. What a band. They will definately go down as Metal Gods.

There is going to b a few who disagree but Ascendency and Ember To Inferno are still better than this album by far.....This album has a few kick ass songs on it.....not taking anything away from these guys.....they are the best fucking band out there today. This album still sounds too much like The Crusade.....I agree they know every inch of there instruments....but the fact remains that they have made 2 better albums than this...peace out

Well, unbroken soul is probably the gayest person alive. ascendancy was great. but got old. and ETI was okay, had some good songs. but this CD is the best of all 4 out to date. the guitar work is so much better then every CD... and im a musician, so i can relate on how hard these guys work, i love trivium.

I got to say ive waited a long while for Shogun to come out and kept up for updates durring the time before it came out and i got to say its fucking awsome i had a feeling they were going to bring the sreaming back, dont get me wrong Trivium's big step on The Crusade was like a new begining then also mixing it up with the screaming, it sounds fucking awsome. So far all there albums are the best

I'm sorry but it's not near as good as Ember or acendency.... though it's better than the crusade....i admit matt is my fav. guitarist but when he changed to sing it broke my heart alittle bit...lol
but all and all it's a pretty rock solid album...
i miss old trivium.... they are mearly a broken shadow of there former selves...

I've played this album again and again over the last couple of months. yes it was on torrent long before cd release date. Down from the sky blew me away instantly the first time i heard it, some other songs took a few more hearings, and well... dear Trivium, when you recorded "From Callisto..." someone should have told you it sucks. It sucks. The almost 12 minute long finale of the album is a masterpiece, i fucking LOVE the build-up from the calm mid-section, that is a max-volume part for me. Now, compared to the previous albums, i think Shogun is mixing the better from both Ascendency and The Crusade and has turned out a long anticipated masterpiece. As Josh said " So far all there albums are the best". I couldnt agree more, i have problems picking which album to listen to when i listen to Trivium. Peace out.

This is JUST what Trivium needed to reinvigorate my love of them. I, too find that Ascendancy was one of their BEST albums, and I found I was rather disappointed by Crusade. This album is a GREAT blend of both Crusade and Ascendancy. They are truly evolving as a band and this album displays that. I am not the type of listener who enjoys obnoxious guitar solos either, but their guitar solos were so well-placed - SHOGUN IS DEADLY.

This is by far the best Trivium release to date, musicaly they have fenessed everything and attention to detail is fuckin' amzing. i have all there albums and seen them live 3 times and they are definetly 1 of my favourite bands of all time, they can only get better from here on, there still only young to, so expect more from them.

Im interested in the fact that everyone said there was nothing good about the crusade, and now they are sayin they are mixing the best from the crusade. personally i love all trivium albums besides ember, i like it but its just a lil boring. anyway shogun kicks ass and is definately their best work, this was a pivotal album, and it paid off

This album is indeed one of the best they have ever made...acendancy was a more heavier album but not too musical... I'm a musician and I've been studying this band's songs and they really became better and better both technically and musically... who cares if ascendancy is still above it..that time, trivium is a rising hot metal band and that's why sales and hype made ascendancy look so good... This album (shogun) is the best...(but the name's a bit nerdy hehehe peace! :) )

This is definitely a band to watch, pity you lot cannot seem to spell or form coherent sentences.
It simply does not speak well of Triviums fan base.
Btw, they do not "scream", it's call ROARING. Only fag emo bands scream.
