Does anybody else appreciate the irony of this song being used in an iPhone ad? There are tones of anti-materialism in the lyrics.

Yeah i noticed that too and find it quite amusing. i wonder though whether they knew how their song was going to be used or not. on the other side, i'm sure Apple knew what they did by choosing this song.. anyways, it's a funny note to all bourgeois iPhone owner out there :-)

Agree with Joe...and also adding on to it
Even though the song is all about the fact that you don't need all the material stuff commercials tell you. You need to have the best value for money by getting the iphone which has more capabilites rather than the other normal 3G phones.. That is my take.. :)

I don't think this song is "anti-materialism" I think it's just pointing out the simple stuff's in the world, the word "bourgeoisie" means "Middle class" I think the submarines just used it as sort of a metaphor for the material things in life, so i guess what I am trying to say is the song merely points out how simple life can be....
