Lata is not just famous, but legendary. She has rendered songs in every genre of film and non-film Indian music in her inimitable style. The great classical singer Bade Ghulam Ali Khan once marvelled at about how the great lady never went off-key. A comment from a singer of his stature is a rarity indeed. She has set extremely high standards of singing of film songs based on classical raagas. It won't be an exaggeration if one says there is no raaga in Hindustani Music which she has not essayed.
