Ughhh this song is really bad. The lyrics are so repetitive and meaningless. Yeah I get the meaning behind the lyrics, but Green Day isn't offering any message, deeper meaning, or story. This song is just generic Green Day rifts played along with a dry song. Also, many parts of this song sound EXACTLY like other songs. One part in particular sounds like a carbon copy of a rift from "Jesus of Suberbia". All they do is play their generic rift while singing "do you know your enemy?" If all the songs on 21st Century Breakdown are like this, it's not getting my money. =(

I have been somewhat of a fan of Greenday in the past, but seriously. Look past your loyalty. This song is terrible. It's a bunch of repetitive garbage they scraped off a table. Listened to a couple more songs from the album. It alright, nothing spectacular. There are alot of straight American Idiot riffs and such. This song just happens to be the worst offender of sounding like American Idiot off of the entire album. Not only does it have the same rhythm and grooves from half the songs on American Idiot, but it has the same damned chord progression as some of the songs too.
Now, I'm not saying Green Day sucks completely (I did, after all, buy the new album...for $2 though). I'm just saying, they need to show some originality. Its been 5 years, you can't tell me that in 5 years they couldnt think of ANYTHING new to write?
Bottom line, I wouldn't recommened spending 15 - 20 bucks on the album. Maybe go download it from a bittorrent or something. And don't give me that bs that its illegal and takes away from their sales. If they're 'punk' and hate the establishment, they'd WANT us to download it, wouldn't they?

I noticed on a late nite talk show earlier that Green Day was on that...they dont say "revolution" instead they said revelation. big dif in vowel sounds there. maybe they jes did that then..i dunno & do u think they are supporting being violent in this song? imma pretty sharp tack..but i have 2 admit this song really made me have a dif viewpoint in a way or 2..i saw way back in the comments a thought deeming it satanic..do u think it is..i mean who are they telling to.."rally up the demons in your soul?" that left me wondering. until i read the lyrics i was kewl with..especially because of the catchy tune..but the words are so "violent & hate supportive" have i missed sumthin in other songs? are they satanists? imma tad confused. & i coulnt help but notice how a few peeps on here used...OMFG! This song is great...for about 30 seconds. Then you realize that it never gets any better, or sound any different than when it starts. Nobody an argue with me here... it is what it is.
