Sounds like he's saying "flavor of the week" rather than playboy of the week. Also, flavors of the week can melt all over a summer dress so that actually makes some sense.

I have never been so profoundly affected by a song in my life. It touches the soul on a very basic level and by the time we're at the ferris wheel, I'm tearing up. I can't explain it and I don't want to ...it feels so complete. I believe it can be up there with the big boys like Hotel California someday.

This might be the best song I've ever heard. I love the way the Eagles can come up with a chorus that doesn't just repeat itself over and over.

I skipped over this song the first few times to get to No More Cloudy Days (which I love also)...then when I finally heard to lyrics and the melody..I found it so beautiful. I lyrics are genius. One of the Eagles best!

I picked up this new CD last weekend, mainly because I like the song, "How Long", but this one is absolutely an awesome song. Great lyrics, a beautiful melody, and Don Henley's voice has a way of reaching down inside you and making you feel that same aching, "I-lost-her-and-cant-get-over-her", heartbreaking sadness the singer is feeling. I heard this song for the first time last night and I had to play it three times on the way to work this morning. What a great song!

This is the best track off the album. The lyrics are all correct except:

"Playboy of the week , He's melting down....." is actually 'Flavor of the week is melting down...'

'Follwing the cloud... is actually following the plow'.

"seasons are slowly changing YOU'

For all guitar players, it is in the key of G with the Capo on the 1st fret. So actually it's a Ab.

This is one of the best songs wriiten in my opinion.

I have read the insert that comes with the CD and they are singing flavour of the week not playboy of the week!Totally classic track it is not often I hear a track I want to replay over and over. Its such a lovely song with lovely words. Love it love it love it

I bought the album yesterday and was instantly blown away by this song. I wanted to check out the lyrics online, and was surprised at how many other people were also blown away by this song and in such a short time. Pretty cool! They should release this one as a single.

Love the lyrics...I think I hear this instead of what you have above...

And...
in the first part it does sound like -

But in the second part, it sounds like -

Waiting for my turn to come

You know there are so many good songs on this album that it really is hard to pick a favorite. This isn't my favoritie but right up there. Don Henley and the beautiful harmonies of Tim, Glenn, and Joe. Wonderful.

I can identify with this song so well....watching it slowly fade away as I wait in the weeds, waiting for my time to come and the dust to settle down....it's my life! The song is beautiful and hypnotizing and the harmony is magic as usual.....

Next to last line is "And though you're with somebody else" instead of "You will know your with...". The song is a masterpiece which is hard to come by these days.
