This is amazing. I was just trying to think of how to write my testimony of "how I came to know Jesus" for a Catholic newsletter then this song started playing on the radio and the lyrics of it hit me. they are pretty much the same words that went through my head when I encountered Jesus for the first time " save me I'm lost, show me what I'm looking for" although it was followed by a "I'm sorry Lord, and how good a God you are and Praise you Jesus". I now know what to write so thank you Jesus for this beautiful song and for all your comments. Im sure the writer will be delighted to hear it is reaching so many people and that it means something to so many.

I believe this song is spoken from the perspective of someone who is trying to figure out her/his purpose in life. i am a christian and for me this life seems really hard to endure, but God gives me strength to get through the day because i know that he will come to save me. as a christian i also believe that everyone has a purpose in God's plan and this song reminds me of everyone's search for that purpose. What i am trying to say is that God may see where we are meant to go while we don't but that doesn't mean we should give up the search. but don't get me wrong i am not excluding other people and their beliefs because they might get something totally different from this song.

I really enjoy listening to this song as well. I find it hilarious that people are debating religion. Religion is a way for us to become closer to a higher power, a spirit and by arguing...you are contradicting the overall purpose. This song, to me, is an uplifting song. Love this song. I was a big disbeliever of the the bible until I studied it myself. There are no inconsistencies in it. I ask you all to read the book of John and the sequel to it, the books of Acts(lot's of action after Jesus was crucified). There are evening study groups that meet at any Christian church. All I can say is that when I was "saved" things started to happen for me; peace, insight, spiritual dreams, strength. Life doesn't get easier but you become one who can overcome and love the One who wants to forgive all sins. Not trying to shove religion on anyone but if your heart softens

It's music, there's no right or wrong answer. Everyone relates differently and gets something different out of it. Personally it reminds me of my relationship and stuff I dealt with this year.

It is a beautiful song all right. Perhaps the next lyrics can be found in the 6th book of the New Testament portion of the Bible, in the book called Romans, the 10th chapter, verses 8 through 13. I looooove this song!!! i keep hearing it on my works satellite radio and its been buggin me on who it is cause it always gets stuck in my head!! anyways.. i agree with jen towards the top.... it is a twilight song lol i was actually thinking it would work on the new moon soundtrack :)

It is a beautiful song because it has a positive message and has depth to it. It makes you think about your connection with god, faith, religion, or love. We need more songs like these in our world.

Religious song or not if it hit a cord in you, it did an awesome job. Enough with all the stupid lyrics out there. To me it tells people from all walks of life that at some point we all need help from the source above. I'm not religious at all but I loooooove this song!

I don't know what the artists intended to convey with this, in my opinion, truly beautiful, heartfelt song but I view it as a song of redemption and wanting to change when at the lowest point of one's life. Be it an addict, an abused sufferer, a domestically battered wife, a runaway...you name it. I think it's about wanting to change for the better but being clueless as how to do so and turning to a higher power as a last resort (maybe) begging for guidance and help. I think "Lord" can be used as a metaphor for anyone's personal God and it's not necessarily geared toward Christian's. At least that's what I'd like to think about these powerful lyrics...
