Biography:

Keke Palmer, real name Lauren Keyana Palmer, is an American actress, singer and songwriter, dancer, fashion designer and activist. Keke was born on August 26, 1993, in Harvey, Illinois. Her first film role was playing the niece of Queen Latifah in "Barber Shop 2: Back in Business". After Keke's big break, she and her family moved to California to pursue an acting career. But she didn't stop at acting. Palmer also wanted a singing career and in 2005 she signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. Keke Palmer's debut single "All My Girlz" was featured on the 'Akeelah and the Bee' soundtrack. Her acting and singing career took off, with Keke starring in "Kings of the South Bronx", "ER", "Second Time Around", Disney's "Jump In!", "Madea's Family Reunion", "Jordan", "Cleaner" and "Tyler Perry's House Of Pain". In 2008 she starred in Nickelodeon's 'True Jackson, VP' in which she played the main character. With this role, Palmer became the fourth highest-paid child star in television, earning $25,000 per episode. The sitcom inspired a fashion line, and all designs were approved by Keke. In 2010, she signed with Interscope Records and began work on her sophomore album. She has cited Brandy, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, Mariah Carey and TLC as her musical influences.
