Garou, whose real name is Pierre Garand , was born on 26 June 1972 on Sherbrooke, Quebec. He is a French Canadian singer.
Luc Plamondon, a Canadian music legend, noticed him while he was performing American blues tunes in a bar on his hometown. Garou became an instant star in France when he took part on the musical Notre-Dame de Paris as a Quasimodo.
