Biography:

Belinda was born in Madrid, Spain on August 15, 1989. His father, Ignacio Peregrín, is Spanish and her mother, Belinda Schüll, is French. She has a younger brother named Ignacio. When she was four years old, the family moved to Mexico, and have lived there ever since. Belinda started her career as a telenovela actress. She got a record deal with BMG, and her first album, called Belinda, was released in 2003. The album was produced by Graeme Pleeth and Rudy Pérez. It included singles such as Lo Siento, Boba Niña Nice, Ángel, and Vivir, which was also chosen as the main theme song for Corazones al límite, another soap opera she briefly appeared in. Utopía was her second album. It reached #3 on the Mexican Charts. In 2007, Belinda headed to Los Angeles to record her first album in English "Utopía 2" which was released in Europe and North America by EMI International on September 25, 2007. This new CD included tracks in English and a DVD. She also appeared as a guest star in Buscando Timbiriche la nueva banda. Belinda was nominated in two categories in the 2007 Latin Grammy Awards which were held on November 8. Her nominations include 'Song of the Year' for "Bella Traición" and 'Best Female Pop Album' for her hit album, "Utopía". On October 18, 2007, Belinda won two awards, Video of the Year for "Bella Traición" and Best Solo Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamerica. Belinda also provided vocals for the remix of "Te Quiero" by DJ Flex.
