2 Chainz, real name Tauheed Epps, is an American rapper, formerly known as Tity Boi, a childhood nickname given to him by his mother. He was born on September 12, 1976, in Georgia, US. Tauheed started his rapping career as one half of the hip-hop duo Playaz Circle, most famous for their debut single "Duffle Bag Boy" and for being signed to Ludacris' label Disturbing Tha Peace. He formed the group in 1997 with his high school friend Earl Conyers, who adopted Dolla Boy as his stage name. They released an independent album "United We Stand, United We Fall" in 2002 which got the attention of Ludacris. The rapper took interest in Playaz Circle and started promoting their music. Sadly, the duo's career hit a rough patch after 2 Chainz, then using the moniker Tity Boy, was shot, and Dolla Boy was incarcerated. In the meantime, Ludacris became an wordwide known rapper and he did not forget about the duo. He asked them to sign with his label Disturbing The Peace. Epps and Dolla Boy released several mixtapes followed by the release of their official album "Supply & Demand" in 2007. The lead single from the album, "Duffle Bag Boy" featuring Lil Wayne was a hit, making them famous all over the world. Two years later, in September 2009, they released the second studio album "Flight 360: The Takeoff" featuring the single "Big Dawg" featuring Lil Wayne and Birdman. shortly after, Tauheed decided to split from Ludacris' label and pursuit a successful solo career. In 2011 he changed his stage name to 2 Chainz and released a mixtape entitled "T.R.U REALigon". Following the name change, he collaborated with some of the biggest names in music industry such as Kanye West on the hit single "Mercy" and Nicki Minaj on "Beez In The Trap". He gained large numbers of followers and began work on his debut studio album "Based On A T.R.U Story" released in August 2012. First single from the album is "No Lie" featuring Drake, a song that created controversy due to Drake's verses dissing Rihanna. 2 Chainz's solo career is going through the roof. No only was he featured on Kanye and Nicki's tracks but he's also a part of Ciara's comeback single "Sweat" from her fifth studio album "One Woman Army". He is the one to look out for in hip-hop now.
Tauheed Epps, now known as 2 Chainz, got the nickname Tity Boi from his mother as he was her only child and the only one she would breastfeed. 2 Chainz denied rumors that he signed with Kanye West's label G.O.O.D Music.
